Bill Baker with Dickie PetersonI got to see BLUE CHEER live for the first time this summer at MAXWELL'S in Hoboken, NJ. Original bassist Dickie Peterson, original drummer Paul Whaley, and guitarist Andrew "Duck" Mac Donald make up the band. Before and after the show I got to meet them and get some of my precious items I have saved over the years autographed, and the band was the nicest bunch of guys you would ever meet. They were so nice in fact, that I persued in getting them some guitar product endorsements, which are now in the works. When the band played in New York last week (November 2, 2006) I went back to see them play loaded with products sent to me for the band. I arrived early and it was like Christmas for them.

We took some photos to send to the companies, and then of course I got some more of my collection autographed, and then I was invited to dinner with the band. Because they weren't going on until 1:00 a.m., we had a lot of time to kill. Hanging with these guys is like being with old friends. They put on a great show that night and my friends that accompanied me (Jay and Wally) also had a great time. I can't wait to see them again.

Think about it, Dickie and Paul have been doing this for 40 years. "Duck" has been with the band almost 20. (I'm not exactly sure how long, I'll have to ask next time.) He's the perfect guitarist for the band and quite a player. He deserves more recognition! They are all great players. Legends. So, this page is my dedication to a GREAT band that I have loved for most of my life!

Please check out their music, GOOGLE them and find out some info on them, and if you can go see them live, do yourself a favor and SEE THEM!
